Every year we send each other loads of messages saying “WANT”. Normally these things are either swimming, cake or nail varnish related! As usual we are sharing the swimming things (with maybe some guest appearances of the other categories) with you (/our husbands…) so that you might get some inspiration of what to put on your wish list or buy for others this year.
Where possible we also like to support the independents, so this might mean that what we put on the lists might not be around for long!
(As usual the bits are from all over world so not necessarily available to everyone, everywhere – sorry!)
If you follow us on instagram (if not, why not!?), you will have seen some snaps of us in our fun batoko cossies. Not only do they look great but they are “made from 100% recycled plastic waste that would have otherwise been headed for landfill and our oceans”.
Team uniform alert! (US based).
STOMP THE PEDAL
We first met Tarsh, the founder of Stomp the Pedal, through twitter and then down at Shepperton Lake. We love how this boss lady has taken her dream and created it into something great. We were/are massive fans of the prints she uses on the cycling apparel, so were super stoked that she has taken these prints and made them into swimwear. #STOMPTHEPADDLE #STOMPTHEPOOL Join the mailing list for updates.

For the men, the boys (thanks Lee and Brian) once again went for funky trunks. This time they went donuts on us because “who doesn’t want to think about donuts during a swim session?”
Swim Stuff Co
Brighton based company that make some snazzy non-complex changing towels… and have pom poms!
I (Manda) borrowed one of these off Team friend Alice for our trip to the lake district and it was great. I am sure you could make one yourself out of microfibre towels but if you prefer save that time for swimming this is a great option.
For that post swim hot drink or porridge these handy bottles not only look good but good for the environment.
Swim session goods
We love these Team Mermaids notepads for writing our swim sets out on. (A5 size, approx. 40 sheets and board back). How would you not be motivated to jump into the water and do 100×100 when it is so nicely written on a sheet of one of these. To purchase, please contact the lovely Maggie on: email@example.com
We have been loving inflicting pain on the guys at our training sessions with these 2 contraptions.
Every Mermaid needs a good notepad for logging her mileage (#whatisstrava).
Love these letter jumpers with mermaid print letters. The lovely Emily, who owns Zilla, is happy to do any variation just message them! These are combos are our favourites though. Multiple purchases can use TWINNINGISWINNING for 10% off.
Sugar Hill Boutique Brighton
This seaside town based clothes wear designer have done some great mermaid/swimmer stuff this year. Alas most of it has gone but there are in the sales in a few sizes on the below sites.
Outdoor Swimming Society
We love the OSS jumpers and some are on sale right now. Grab yourself a bargain!
After a cheap and cheerful mermaid jumper, look no further.
Once again we are featuring Rory Lux, mainly because they are US based so we haven’t been able to get our hands on anything and they keep adding stuff we WANT and “Mermaids don’t do dryland” is a FACT (US based).
Whatever your mermen/mermaid combination requirements are Art Disco have you covered (all combinations in both men and women tshirts). They also do a nice Vitamin Sea t-shirt for your sea swimming aficionados.
and to go with all these lovely bits are some snazzy mermaid leggings!
It wouldn’t be a mermaid wish list without some nail varnish….
Whether keeping your head warm or shading your face a hat is always a good shout (US based)
South London Swimming Club
Want your head to be toasty warm but also look like Tooting Bec Lido’s doors… look no further.
Little Hot Dog Watson
Another female led independent. Her children’s hats are a favourite in our house, so this one is sure to be a winner.
Post swim care
I (Manda) got given a hair turban by M&S to test out for the feature we did for them and honestly it was my favourite thing and probably the cheapest (£6) thing we tested. It is a game changer. When I got out of cold water I would always keep my swimming hat on whilst dressing before taking cap off, aggressively towel drying my hair, then putting on a woolly hat on my still wet hair and therefore, I would stay cold. I now take off my swimming hat and put this on whilst getting dressed. It absorbs the water (without making your hair frizzy) so that when you do put on your, hat the hair is a lot dryer. Like I said GAME CHANGER.
And for all your post swim lotions and potions this Mermaid is perfect.
and if you want to keep your hair dry, tuck it nicely under this beauty.
Hayley & Co
Love the simplicity and sweet message with these mermaid earring studs.
The annual we-want-this-so-bad-but-its-so-maaaaaaaaaaaaaaany-bucks item!
The Maldives and swimming – what is not to WANT! Both swimtrek and swimquest offer a Maldives trip so we’ve linked to both.
and Lee’s luxury item is nearly as expensive as a swim holiday!
#swimmerlife x #colouring = christmas day sorted!
For those who can’t fully commit to a permanent mermaid tat!
